Local Distilleries Shine at 2024 Perth Royal Food Awards

Variations Distillery in Ravenswood and Little Stiller Distillery on Mandurah’s foreshore have achieved champion awards at the 2024 Perth Royal Food Awards, spotlighting Western Australia’s vibrant craft spirits scene.

 

Variations Distillery earned the Champion Gin title for its house gin and took home additional gold and silver medals, a major feat for a business operated by three husband-and-wife teams since 2021.

 

Co-owner Nic Willis credited their success to head distiller Saul Hart and the passionate team behind their expanding range.

 

Little Stiller Distillery won Champion Alternative Spirit for its meticulously crafted coffee vodka, the result of over a year’s refinement led by co-owner Jiah Minifie.

 

Their new Stiller Studio function venue, funded through a $150,000 state grant, is set to enrich Mandurah’s event scene.

 

The awards drew 169 entries, reflecting the innovation and high standards defining Western Australia’s distilleries.

Local Distilleries Shine at 2024 Perth Royal Food Awards

Variations Distillery and Little Stiller have earned champion titles at the 2024 Perth Royal Food Awards, shining a spotlight on local spirit excellence.

 

The Ravenswood-based Variations Distillery, operated by three husband-and-wife teams, clinched top honors for their gin alongside multiple medals for their crafted spirits.

 

Part-owner Nic Willis underscored the pride and teamwork behind these achievements, reflecting the community’s spirit and creativity.

 

Meanwhile, Little Stiller on the Mandurah foreshore celebrated success in the alternative spirit category, capturing the champion award for its hand-crafted coffee vodka developed by Jiah Minifie and team after months of innovation.

 

These accolades mirror the rising status of local distilleries as Mandurah and Ravenswood see new developments, including a Murray River subdivision, the ongoing revival of the Ravenswood Hotel, a Peel Health Campus upgrade, and improved local infrastructure.

 

The region stands out as a vibrant blend of tradition and fresh growth.
